ABOUT US
As the headquarters for international groups, a center of research and a city of culture, Basel also has a greater need for English-speaking child care centers. We offer families who speak German and other foreign languages a stimulating educational environment in which children can playfully develop their German and English language skills. Our qualified caregivers consistently speak to children in just one language. This necessitates a conscious use of the language. That means that everyday activities, songs and games are conducted in German and English. This way, children are clearly aware of each of the two languages and they have an opportunity to learn to clearly separate the linguistic structures of each language while also expressing themselves in both. Throughout the day, both languages are used equally and side by side.
PHILOSOPHY
Every person is equal regardless of origin, color of skin or religion. At the Bilingual Kids Academy, each child is accepted as a unique individual and nurtured in such a way that he or she can navigate this world both independently and with self confidence.
Every child is encouraged to bring with them their unique pesonality and outlook which has been fostered by their family, culture and the environment they grew up in. Children are offered a bilingual setting in which to learn. These are supervised by qualified English and German teachers. Our goal is to promote age appropriate development in all social, emotional and physical development areas. We respect each child's personal learning style, interests and specific learning needs.
